SPOOK Weekend 2017

On the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November SPOOK (Sheffield Postgraduate Old Orienteering Klub) members returned to Sheffield for the annual alumni weekend. The weekends proceedings were kicked off on Saturday morning by Orienteering relays held at Redmires with teams of two completing 3 legs in each in snowy conditions. Congratulations to the Mixed winners Mary Fleming and Alex Moore, Men's winners Jack Millar and Jack Wright and Women's winners Alice Rigby and Anna Beatrix. In the evening a Black Tie meal was held at the Burton Street Foundation in Hillsborough with speeches and a DJ before everyone headed off to Pop - Tarts!

On Sunday morning the annual SPOOK VS SHUOC football match was held with coach Tom Entwistle leading SHUOC to victory in the first time in 5 years. The weekend concluded with the captains memorial held at Notty House on Sunday night with beer generously paid for by donations from SPOOK members. The night also included the annual SHUOC awards as well as SPOOK VS SHUOC beer races where SHUOC narrowly lost to SPOOK.
