Saturday am: For those not running the Kinder Trial, meet at 10:30am at the main car park in Edale as shown below. This is a pay and display car park, so you need change for the machine (probably approx. £3-4). We will go for a run for up to 2 hours in two or three groups, there will be maps within each group. Each group must stick together but can return as early as they wish - make sure you have waterproofs and a bum bag/rucksack for on the hill and plenty of warm clothes for standing around after running. Saturday pm: We will eat lunch when everyone is back down and drive into Sheffield for the afternoon training in Endcliffe Park. We will be parking on Riverdale Road aiming to meet at approx. 2:30pm, here: We will run a couple of short technical orienteering exercises before calling an end of the day’s activity. Make sure you have a compass for this! Saturday eve: Post orienteering we will retire to our accommodations and get sorted out for the evening. Everyone will meet up in broomhill at 7:00pm (possibly earlier if wanted), get food and find somewhere to sit in the Fox and Duck pub (where they allow food until 9pm I believe). We will later head to Pop Tarts (will let you know price of tickets later but should be no more than £4 hopefully). Sunday am: Orienteering on one of Sheffield’s best urban forests - Wincobank. There will be a few loops to run and the potential to race one another if you wish to. Meeting at 11:00am, on Wensley St: We will then depart early afternoon giving people plenty of time to get back home.

Monday - Circuits 5.30pm Activity Room 2 Tuesday - Intervals, 6.15 outside Goodwin and we'll run down to Endcliffe park Thursday - Hills, 6.30 outside Goodwin So that's it for this week of organised stuff! Check the forum incase there's any runs going on at the weekend.. Last year we managed to raise a large amount of money for charity by climbing the height of Everest in a day up one of the roads in Sheffield. This year we would like to raise some more money for charity.
This year we are going to try to set a Guiness World Record. We are going for the fastest two person pantomime half marathon. The current record is detailed here. Ralph and John will be our camel. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to enter the race whether that be as a pair (to run as a camel or cow or horse) or on your own (dressed as some kind of animal preferably). Kind of like a ShUOC farm yard if you will. For those not interested in running your support on the day would be greatly appreciated. The two charities we will be raising money for are Unicef and Lymphoma and Leukaemia research. Eventually there will be a justgiving page set up but this is just to inform everyone of the plans and get people involved. If you are interested get your entries in fast as it is likely to fill up. http://www.sheffieldmarathon.com/ (If you decide to run as a camel you will be responsible for getting your own costume.) After the success of the December training weekend, BUOT (British University Orienteering) are planning a late notice, quality weekend around Sheffield. Open to all student orienteers.
