Despite exam season raining down, ShUOC is still running strong!
On Tuesday, members of ShUOC took part in the Totley Moor Fell Race in the summer sun! Well done to all who took part! Cynog Williams 3rd Eve Pannone 10th (1st Female) Jack Baker 26th Evan Bowers 43rd Andrew Macdonald 61st Abbie Walker 85th Jessica Harrison 119th Liam Overett 124th Harry Scott 140th Across the rest of the country, others have taken part in different races. Well done to Andy Macdonald in his completion of the Isle of Jura Fell Race in sub 4 hours, coming 23rd overall! Congratulations too to Alice Gamble, who raced the Helvellyn & The Dodds Fell Race, finishing as 3rd female!! And finally, Laura Harrison and Connor Smith both ran the 4th Trunce race, well done to both!! Well done to all who have raced and trained this week!!!! It's been another busy week for ShUOC!
Some members took part in SYO event at Wincobank on Wednesday: Blue: 2nd Adrien Gallet 3rd Dominic Green 4th Chloe Potter 6th Thomas Entwistle ShUOC also held its Porter Valley Beer Race on Wednesday. Well done to Jack Baker on the win! This weekend saw more racing, with many members competing at the SYO event at Graves Park: Blue: 2nd Adrien Gallet 3rd Maya Hampshire Wright 9th Toby Antcliff 12th Rebecca Ward 16th Joseph Goodwin 18th Alice Gamble Green: 4th Harry Scott 11th Eleanor Ellis Light Green: 9th Abbie Walker EPOC hosted the YHOA Sprint Champs at Shibden Hall on Sunday, some great results, followed by a rowing trip onto the Lake! Men's Open: 5th/ 2nd YHOA Thomas Entwistle 9th Connor Smith 10th Joseph Goodwin m/p Jack Baker Women's Open: 2nd Rebecca Ward 5th Maya Hampshire Wright 7th Eleanor Ellis 9th Laura Harrison Some members also attended the Steel City 10km in Shire Brook Valley, great effort from all! 1st Adrien Gallet 2nd Evan Bowers 6th/1st Female Chloe Potter 32nd Liam Overett 33rd Joe Thomas And to wrap things up Cynog Williams came 1st at the Mount Famine Fell Race! On Thursday, 9 ShUOCers ran the Rother Valley Relays. One lap of Rother Valley, 5km and complete it in the fastest time possible. The men’s relay consisted of 4 legs, with the women’s having 3. A huge congratulations to the two ShUOC teams who came 14th overall in the Men’s (Dom Green, Evan Bowers, Jack Baker and Adrien Gallet) and 9th overall in Womens (Maya Hampshire Wright, Rebecca Ward and Chloe Potter). Congratulations to Alice Gamble and Toby Antcliff for their performances in their respective teams🏅 At the weekend, 9 ShUOCers headed to the Lake District for Ambleside AC Fairfield Fell Race. A huge well done to all who completed the 14.5km course with 914m of climb. A huge well done to the following for their overall results: 1st Tom Perry 5th Andy Macdonald 14th Adam Conway 21st Evan Bowes 40th Charlie Wilkinson 43rd Abbie Walker Finally this past weekend, a number of ShUOCers took part in @southyorkshireorienteers double event weekend. On Saturday, Adrien Gallet and Joe Goodwin attended a Saturday series event at Parkwood Sprint and came 5th and 7th respectively on Blue. On Sunday, we headed out to Wombwell for a regional event. A huge well done to the following: Brown🟤 6th Adrien Gallet 10th Tom Perry 13th Joseph Goodwin 23rd Jack Baker Blue🔵 21st Laura Harrison 22nd Rebecca Ward Finally, on Sunday, our member Evan Bowers completed the 3 Peaks Race running 37.4km and around 1600 meters of ascent and descent.
