Fell running involves racing over hills and mountains.
The distance of each race varies, with some just a few miles, and others well over 20km. Longer races can often involved navigation which separates fell running from mountain running. It is an simple sport to get into, with a laid back atmosphere, friendly folk and races to suit any ability. All you need is a pair of (grippy!) shoes. As we neighbour the Peak District, Sheffield is a great place to take up fell running, and there is a great network of footpaths right out of the city.
