Well done to those who ran at Tideswell on Friday:
Jack Wright 2nd Jack Millar 4th Mike Beasant 13th Anna Hoogkamer 33rd (3rd woman) Here's a photo of everyone looking fabulous and sweaty... Congratulations are due to the following ShUOC members who have been deemed worthy enough to be selected to GB teams for development races in the Autumn:
Antwerp International Sprint Meeting, September. Matt Elkington Will Gardner Adam Potter Olly Williams. Euromeeting, Estonia, late september. Jonny Crickmore Charlotte Ward Junior European Cup, Germany, October: Jo Woodley Well in all. Congratulations to Elk for apparently becoming a sprint orienteer in the last few months. Congratulations to Hannah and Anna who ran their first fell (okay trail) races last night! Anna finished 44th (5th woman) with a respectable time of 32:04 despite spending the last 8months ill and Hannah came in 94 (9th woman) with a good time of 35.43 whilst coming back from injury. Nic Barber outdid them both of course and not only won but got a 1second PB with a time of 25:50!
Well done to the ShUOCers who competed at Grindleford last Friday. I can't seem to find the official results but here are some unofficial ones:
3rd Jack Wright 7th Adam Potter 9th Nic Barber 16th Jack Millar 17th Alex Hichcliffe Well done to the others who ran sorry i don't have your results! We are immensely proud to announce that Charlotte Ward has been selected to run in the Sprint Women of the World Orienteering Championships. Congratulations on a very well deserved selection! http://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/index.php?pg=1&action=news&id=MzIyNg%3D%3D&rtn=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5icml0aXNob3JpZW50ZWVyaW5nLm9yZy51ay8%3D
ShUOC dominated all be it in their slightly dodgy white vests. Almost a 1-7 white wash...
1st - Jonny Crickmore 2nd - Tommy Horton 3rd - Will Gardner 4th - Jack Wright 5th - Matt Elkington 7th - Nic Barber With Olly Williams and Ben White also in the top 20 and Alex 33rd. Chris Owens and Mike Beasant...well...at least they sprinted the finish :P I'm sure all runners would like to thank the lovely trio of Rhona, Hannah and Anna who were at the top of Mam Tor to cheer them on and take embarrassing photos. Well done to Jonny Crickmore who was faster over the old course than the record and came in first. Nic Barber finished 4th and Alex Hinchcliffe completed his first fell race, coming in 18th! Congratulations to all who ran.
A few of our finest ShUOC-ers braved some horrendous weather conditions in Oxspring to race in the Trunce 4. Some great results including 1st and 2nd for Olly Williams (despite a little slip up in the river) and Jack Wright respectively. 5th for Millar and respectable 16th for Patrick Jones, 22nd for Cooper and 34th for Alex Moore. Congratulations to all who took part and good luck to everyone else competing this week!
Congrats to Nic Barber who finished 23rd in the Lakes!
