t's been another busy week for ShUOC, with a diverse range of competitions keeping us all running!

On Wednesday, a large group competed in the local Tigers Trail race, with the evening sun creating some brilliant views! 
7th Andrew Macdonald, 14th Jonty Cope, 17th Louis James, 23rd Abbie Walker (3rd Female!), 27th Maya Hampshire Wright, 30th Anna Beever, 40th Ben Stevens, 71st Liam Overett. 

Then on Friday, Alex Mason and Jason Hayman travelled to compete in the Mid Cheshire 5km. Both achieved PBs in the incredible times of 15.04 for Alex and 15.48 for Jason!!!! 

It was a big weekend for orienteering! On Saturday the British Middle Champs were hosted at Danefield, with some excellent forest running!!!

This was swiftly followed by the very serious Maze Orienteering ShUOC Champs, where Eleanor and Adrien claimed the joint fastet time across the three courses!!!! 

And then on Sunday, the Northern Champs were hosted at Kilnsey Moor!!!

On Saturday, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Race took place!!! Harry Kneen finished in 71st place, and Alice Gamble was 281st!!!! An incredible effort from both runners in a very tough race!!!!!!

And finally Charlotte Mosley competed in the Dronfield 10km, gaining herself a new PB of 43:23!!!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!!

A reminder that our AGM takes place this Thursday, and that our club champs & leavers meal is taking place on Saturday! Details can be for all three of these on our Facebook!!

​It's was a busy week for ShUOC, with a huge number of races taking place across the country!!! 

Following the orienteering training at Loxley Common on Wednesday, some of ShUOC ran the SYO event at Parkwood Springs on Saturday!!!
Blue: 1st Adam Conway, 3rd Adrien Gallet, 4th Ben Stevens, 10th Rebecca Ward, 11th Jonty Cope, 13th Maya Hampshire Wright, 16th Abbie Walker, 18th Liam Overett, 32nd Max Watson
And then the following day, we travelled to Sandall Beat Woods for another SYO event!! Brown: 3rd Joe Thomas, 4th Adrien Gallet, 6th Ben Stevens, 8th Rebecca Ward, 15th Liam Overett.

Over in the Lake District, some major Fell Races were taking place!!! On Friday, there was the European Athletics Uphill-Only Trials, which produced some great runs!! And then on Sunday, the Inter-Counties Mountain Running Champs took place! Men's Race: 21st Alex Mason, 36th Henry Webb, 54th Tom Perry. Women's Race: 2nd Eve Pannone!!

On the roads, Lottie Mosley took part in the South Yorkshire Road League up by Lodge Moor!!! 

And then on Sunday, Cynog Williams completed in the London Marathon, achieving the absolutely incredible time of 2:25:15 🎉!!!!!!! 

Massive congratulations to everyone who has competed in their respective races this week, absolutely incredible!!!!!!!

​This week ShUOC travelled up to the British Long Distance and Relay Orienteering Champs near Whitby!! 

Saturday's Long Distance was a tough day of hills and undergrowth, but that didn't stop us powering through!

Following an evening wandering round Whitby protecting out Fish & Chips from the ever watching gulls, ShUOC set off on Sunday to re-enter the woods for the relays! The Men of Steel took 10th in the Men's Premier, with CurBAR Goers claiming 18th, while in the Women's Premier Cheffing It Up claimed 9th place!! Massive well done too to our SPOOK teams, with some excellent results!!!!! 

Out on the roads Ben Sharrock deserves a massive shout out for his time in the Manchester Marathon: 2.35.35!!!! 

Well done to all of ShUOC for your runs this week!!!!!!!

​The sun is shining, the gales are blowing, and it keeps trying to rain? 

Another busy week for ShUOC, with members participating in an array of races!!

Today, 5 members took part in the Sheffield Half Marathon, with some absolutely smashing times!!! Ben Stevens - 1:29:13, Rebecca Ward - 1:32:06, Charlotte Mosley - 1:35:13, Abbie Walker - 1:35:43, Hannah Noble - 1:37:42, Eleanor Ellis - 1:59:41. The hills may have been brutal but an epic result from all!!!! 

On Saturday, a group of ShUOCers took on the English Champs Lad's Leap Fell Race. In the Men's race: 12th Cynog Williams, 63rd Tim Barry, 94th Ed Corden. In the Women's race: 7th Eve Pannone!! 

ShUOCers have competed in some other races this week too!!! On Saturday, Alex Mason competed in the National Road Relays (for Hallamshire Harriers), Lottie Mosley competed in the South Yorkshire Road Leaugue race, and on Wednesday, Abbie Walker ran the Muddy Roads Pie and Peas Race (an epic name for a race personally!), and placed 1st Female!!!!!!

Across Easter weekend, ShUOC travelled to the 2024 Jan Kjellström International Festival of Orienteering!

Loughborough University was host to the Sprint, with a technical network of paths and buildings creating an exciting challenge!! M21E - 52nd Adrien Gallet, 54th Joe Thomas, 75th Thomas Entwistle, 85th Jack Baker, 88th Ben Stevens, mp Dom Green. M20E - 5th Tom Perry, 16th William Lake. Men Open - 22nd Liam Overett. W21E - 35th Rebecca Ward, 41st Eleanor Ellis. W20E - 12th Maya Hampshire Wright 

Saturday and Sunday were both set in Beaudesert - an area full of deep mud and brambles. Issues with misplaced controls at the Middle Distance meant W21 Elite was voided, much to the despair of Eleanor, who'd had an amazing run. And the M21E course was paused at control 13, leaving Dom overjoyed, as his mispuch was removed.

The change from boggy wood to Peak District moors at Stanton Moor proved popular at the relays. Well done to all our teams! Men Of Steel was 16th on Men's Trophy, Cheffing it Up was 11th on Women's Trophy, and Lost Causes was 16th on Men's Short.

Apparently there were also some other races this week, but strava has been so full of JK runs that I may have missed some? Adam decided that Beaudesert wasn't up to his O standards and disappeared into Swedish Skog, and Andy competed in the Rivington Pike Fell Race where it seems he was more focused on a UFO in the sky than the run?
