Last Sunday, ShUOC members headed to Leeds University for the British Sprint Individual Orienteering Championships.
First up in the morning was the Qualifiers, with members running courses to determine which final they made. These courses used Woodhouse Moor before heading back into the university campus and having to think fast in the intricate campus. In the afternoon, after being placed into our finals, ShUOC members headed out into the technical areas of campus, with plenty of steps and levels to keep us all confused! A huge well done to the following members: MOpenB Tom Entwistle 8th MOpenC Adrien Gallet 3rd WOpenA Chloe Potter 7th WOpenB Laura Harrison 11th W20B Eleanor Ellis 1st A few words from Tom nicely summed up the day, “Nice couple of courses at the British Sprints, with a fast and fun Qualifier and technical Finals area left you second guessing. Nice to see ShUOC both old and new out there running strong on their courses! No mispunches in that area is a great sign!” A huge thank you to AIRE for organising the event.
