The weekend got off to a bang with the Relays in Bowden Housteads planned by our very own Maya Hampshire Wright! The weather outside was frightful, but the wood was so delightful! A strong set of teams out there, well done all!!! Congratulations to SPOOK Team Blumpkin (Matt Elkington & Will Gardner) on their win! - Full results available on the Facebook group. Once everyone's fingers had eventually thawed, it was time to dress to impress for the SPOOK meal! Thank you to the staff at the Garison Hotel, and a big shout out to the DJ who agreed to play the legendary song that is You and Me by Nicola Manfredi - the music in poptarts could never top it The snowy conditions trashed some peoples plans of the Percy Pud 10km race (although some with hangovers were actually rather thankful), but lots of people still got out in the snow for pre-football runs! The infamous SPOOK vs ShUOC football match commenced in the afternoon, with the compressed snow giving way to slippy conditions. As per usual SPOOK dominated the pitch, but ShUOC didn't go down without a fight! Notty House was rammed with SPOOK and ShUOC come Sunday night. The beer races were dominated by SPOOK (shocking nobody), but ShUOC showed they wouldn't be outdone and sent fresher Will Lake to take on and succed at the infamous Yard Of Ale. Thank you to Matt Elkington for organising the weekend, and to everyone else who helped SPOOK take place! See y'all at next year's SPOOK! |
